Each one of us has our own challenges in life. Some days seem so perfect and some are just as dull as the gloomy sky. Often times we worry a lot of things in our life and before we know it, it creeps within our self and ripping our moment of happiness. Being in this kind of state confuses us with the “how”, “why” plus the “but” and the “what if” thoughts. We worry especially about things that are beyond our control causing us to be pessimistic, poisoning our emotion and putting our health at risk as well our mental state of mind. At times, I also experienced all these feelings when I worry. However, I have been reminded of one of my two favorite scriptures in the Bible;
Matthew 8:26 NIV "You of little faith, why are you so afraid? "Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm."
Philippians 4:6-7 NIV "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
These scriptures help me to calm down myself providing me peace of mind as I slowly letting things go out in my system. It reminds me as if God is telling me that things that are out in the palm of my hand are his job and not mine to handle. I just have to trust him and keep the faith. Though this may sound easier said than done but if we put an effort into believing him, he will surely deliver us.
We have to keep in mind that every dark cloud has a silver lining. He does not want us to be worried as he knows what is in store for us. Worry is not from him from but from his enemy blinding us to see the glory and the goodness of our God. We have a happy God and he wants us to be happy and experience his glory and grace. He has his own definition of happiness and it may not be the same as ours yet he wants us to live joyfully and enjoy the rewards of our labor here on earth. The Joy of the Lord is our strength. (Nehemiah 8:10). Not only does God want us to be happy, He also wants us to be holy.
Hebrews 12:10 NIV "They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness." 1 Peter 1:15-16 NIV "15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy."
Our approach to God will affect our attitude and impact our outlook on life, our relationship with others and our mood and health. Here are some of the scriptures that will surely make your day. 😄😄
